I have been a member of Ebay since about 2000. In the last 5 years I have garnered a huge reputation and the monumental feedback score of … 5. Yea, I know big power user. Lately though, I have really caught the bug. Since I got the new Dell Axim, I put my old HP Pocket PC up on the Ebay and got a pretty decent price for it. Now I am rummaging through the house seeing just what I can sell on line.
“Honey?… Do we really need this commemorative statuette of lady liberty?…..” ( I can probably get $5 for it! ) … hmmm. It’s not so much the money coming in, it’s the thrill of watching people bid on my crap! People actually virtually fighting over the privilege to buy my stuff! It’s kind of funny really, demented and sad, but funny!
The only thing that makes me nervous is getting burned by some unscrupulous and nefarious bidder/hacker who buys my stuff, yet doesn’t pay, or pays with someone elses Pay Pal account. I just had a shipmate tell me a tale of how he got screwed out of $1,500 for a computer he sold. The guy was using someones Ebay account from New York, yet using someone elses Pay Pal account from San Diego. ( No doubt, those accounts were compromised by one of those phishing schemes that have been floating around the internet for the last couple years or so). So, yea I protect myself the best I can, and just hope that I am smart enough to feel my spidey senses tingling if I get a nare-do-well bidding on my stuff.
Off to work I go!

*Burp*… ohhh no.. no more turkey thank you. Gads I am stuffed to the gills with good ole fashion turkey and dressing, mashed ‘taters, candied yams…etc..etc.. Sooo goood, I am going to have to get on the eliptical machine for about a week and a half to keep myself on track diet wise.
Mrs. Jaybob and I had a couple of the guys that work for me over for the festive food frolic. They live in the barracks and I remember what it is like to go to the galley for thanksgiving. ( Trust me, not a happy day )
From my family to yours… a blessed Thanksgiving and don’t forget the gravy!

How cool is this? I am writing this on my brand new little toy. An AXIM pocket PC from DELL. WI-Fi,Bluetooth and everything! I Actually don’t have a wireless connection, but someone around here does, so I am just borrowing it for a minute.
You know how that goes.
More Later….

Things here are really coming together for my coming Re-enlistment.
I figured that since this will be the last time before I retire with 20 years that I raise my hand to “swear to protect and defend…â€, that I should make it a damn good one. Sooooo, I have decided to Re-enlist onboard the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor. I can think of no other place that has greater naval significance than that sacred site.
The plans are really fallin in place as well… My folks have graciously donated their time share for Mrs. Jaybob and myself for a week in Waikiki, and my Mother-in-Law wants to pay for our rental car and a trip to swim with the dolphins! We have the airline tickets already paid for ( I really could have flown out there on a MAC – Military Airlift Command – flight for $10 each way but I didn’t want to chance it. ) so there really is not a whole heck of a lot left to do, except finish the process of approval from the folks in Hawaii to use the memorial.
I am getting quite excited! This will also be Mrs. Jaybobs first time to Hawaii, so that will be pretty darn cool as well.
Well, I need to get to work..
“Take care of yourself, and your shipmates….. That is all.”
