Arrival to Pensacola

Happy New Years!

I have arrived at NAS Pensacola for 8 months of strenuous traning in all matters avionics. This should be fun!

Pensacola, for those that do not know, is also the home of the U.S. Navy’s BlueAngels Blue Angel F-4 at the front gate of NAS Pensacola - “The Cradle of Naval Aviation”flight demonstration team! Hoo Ya!  These guys are the cream of the crop when it comes to high flying shenanigans! One day I would like to take a demo ride with them, that would be pretty damn cool.

Our new house is decent as far as military quarters go. It is only a 950 sq.ft. townhouse but it is livable and has a decent yard for the beagles to run around in.  I was quite unsurprised to find that a bunch of our household goods got mishandled and broken by the movers.*sigh*   Actually the guys on the packing end are the ones responsible, they were so unorganized and horrible!  I had to tell these guys how to pack a darn box,  and just WHY it isn’t a good idea to pack weights ON TOP OF A COMPUTER! ugh… BUT..  Thank god for moving insurance, we should be getting a nice $2,000 check from the moving company to replace the damaged furniture.

I am due to start school this coming week.  I am both excited and full of dread at the prospect of having to dredge up every last bit of algebra knowledge that I can remember from highschool. (15 years ago!)  If it is anything like when I went to “A” school,  we should be cruising through the math pretty fast.  I just hope I can keep up.

Well that’s all for now.. Take care
